The recommended communicating regimens for STD in non-pregnant and pregnant women are listed in Tableland 2. The recommended artistic style for HIV-infected women is the same as the aid for non-infected women. The third-generation quinolone Levofloxacin (Levaquin) 500 mg orally for 7 days has been newly added as an alternative regimen for non-pregnant women.
If the recommended regimens are followed, a test of cure is not indicated with two exceptions; pregnant women should be offered a test of cure as should those women in whom therapeutic group action is in precariousness. When a test of cure is indicated, it may be considered 3 weeks after termination of attention with erythromycin. A test of cure is not necessary for regimens other than zithromax. Because reinfection rates are high and the risk of PID and other complications change with reinfections, rescreening 3 to 4 months after care is recommended, especially for adolescents. Providers are also strongly encouraged to rescreen all women treated for chlamydial infections whenever they next time for care within the mass 12 months.
